Well, this is #6 for me…wish it was FOR me, but alas…
6’2 x 20 1/2 x 2 5/8
Everything you need to know…
The blank was Elova, i liked it, you may not, but i saw nothing that wrong with it overall.
RR epoxy (additive F is my friend)
-sanded soooo much easier than FGH epoxy, a definite difference all the way around
pinlines were posca, three tape method, two passes a minute apart on a sanded cheater coat, then hotcoated/sanded.
sanded to 320, then did a wet 400, then used the surfboard polish from FGH.
I actually put in the fin box with a dremel, with no hitches. I used my long metal “L” ruler as a guide which i taped to the board, i also had the little router or grout router thingy attachment which allows the dremel to be verticle and you can adjust for depth. Worked real well…granted the inner rectangle took a while to dig out and clean up, it obviously didn’t just pop out like if doing a leash plug, but walls of the rectangle were very clean thanks to my ruler guide i used. I used the multi-purpose cutter bit.
The girl i did it for wanted something similar to a CI singlefin, so that was my main motivation and what i was trying to emulate for the most part. I’m very stoked on this board, it came out SICKKKK. Especially the color.
