10'6" Becker UFO: What's the Blue Book?

I don’t know logs (at all), but I have a 10’6" Becker UFO (5 stringers, hrdwd tail block) that I bought to ride a certain wave in a certain place near which I no longer live in about 1996. It’s in good condition, since it’s hung from the rafters in the garage untouched for years.

Thinking about selling it since I don’t ride it. No idea what to price it at. Anyone care to opine?

Ebay gives you the true value of what someone is willing to pay.

Where you are makes a huge difference on price. Ferinstance… Newport probably has more Beckers than anywhere, so a little less. C-street probably has seen how well the UFO’s go, and can’t get them, so maybe more. Florida might like that cupped tail for the slop, so maybe more as well, while the long length & low rocker probably won’t fit into beachbreak in the OBX or Jersey very well, so maybe less. Hawaii - not bloody likely, but maybe a novelty in France.

So…where are you?

BTW, if you’re north of the Golden Gate…send me a PM

Hey, thanks for the info. I used to be north of the GG, but now reside in Los Angeles County.

The wave I had in mind when I picked up this board breaks at the inlet to a small lagoon just north of the Gate. It was just the ticket for that spot.

Now I favor stow’n’go little boards for the urban lifestyle. ha!

Good note about C-Street. I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll try Craigslist/Ventura if swaylocks doesn’t bear fruit.

Cheers,

Oh, that’s funny. That - and its brother, the reef 500 yards to the west - are the waves I had in mind for it as well.

Try www.coldwatersurfclub.com and see if you can find contact info for Casey. He was from up here - that wave - and now lives at C Street… or Christian, who also moved away from here, down to Pleasure Point. I bet either of them would want it, maybe especially Christian who really wanted a UFO I had a line on a few years back. It was a Rick, and also a 10’6"…

Sounds like a perfect boat for all the points around Malibu; are you sure you want to get rid of it?
