I haven’t heard alot about what is going on with the olo pipe challenge of late, but i thought some of you might be interested in what is happening in Aotearoa (nz), there have been a number of ppl wanting to try one of these roy stewart olo boards out and, after a challenge being put to roy on surf.co.nz “The Spud Preliminary Powersurfing Challenge” which was for roy to let some interested partys try his boards out by way of a loan, there was much interest with alot of ppl from all over nz wanting a chance to try one of the boards out as well, and after a small amount of discussion it was decided by everyone that if roy was willing to lend the board, it would be delivered around nz by the interested ppl from one place to the next and, after Roy being a a great sport, sharing the stoke and agreeing to loan a board out, the powersurfing hikoi was born.
A talented artist and surfer(phoam.co.nz) who will be trying the board on the southland leg has been good enough to create a blog http://13footofwood.blogspot.com/ so we can monitor the boards progress around the country and put up any feedback by the test pilots.
This should produce some good ride reports of the board in a wide variation of waves for those of us interested in this type of board.
cheers
