Enjoyed that. Thanks for putting that together and sharing. You got a lot of good waves. Definitely the beauty of where you live and minimal crowd.
Just curious. How long was your surf session in that water temp?
Cool to see that area. I’ve got relatives a bit south of you in Camden and Boston and have made a few trips out there in the fall. A buddy I knew back on Maui who I did a month long Indo trip with in 91 is in Portland and surfs in your area when he can. Last I heard about a year ago he and his wife were buying a house on your island. But I don’t think I could surf in that cold of water…burrrrrr double burrrrr
Also to see a you on a board that in many ways started because of Swaylocks.
thanks! That was a good day and tons of wave t be caught. Just so happens that Lance and the other dude (Mat Healey) were performing well that day. Lot of other rides but we had to keep it to the best rides.
That session was about 90 mins that day. That suit Excel is pretty good (warm-wise) so far. Nice and dry-locked.
It is a unquie place for sure and yes cold :). But you get used to it…kinda.
I had the good fortune to spend some time at that spot a few years back. That cobble point can really fire. I was there for a week, and got two days of excellent surf at that right. Great vibe in the water. I stayed at a B&B right on the water, at the other end of the beach, where I surfed a fun left on a longboard one day after the swell. When it went flat, I went for a day-long hike and found some setups that looked sweet just north of that beach. Do they work as good as they look like they do? What I saw just around the corner was a series of rock points, one after another. Not as long as the one at the main spot, but it looked just perfect on the right swell. Looking forward to going back someday. You guys have something special going there.
Yea, it is speical for sure. If you look at a map of Nova Scotia it is riddled with points and being on te upside of swell coming form the south US and North Atlantic we get some great swell. But, as you can see, it is friggin cold! But good people and an evolving surf culture.
Some places look better thatn they are and there are tons of places to find, if you know where to look. Buying the locals beers or early AM coffee’s usually helps
I heard that there is a new charter flight from Philly so the LI, Jersey, and Virginia Beach guys can zero in on your invitation. Thanks! . You’re the man!!
