.....here , finally , I got it ! After years of talking here about this board , the photo sees the light of day , at last !
I took this photo three decades ago now , and thought it was lost forever ?!
Tonight I found it on a disc Simon had sent me in 2006 ! (the same disc contains photos of Simon's flextail he made for Eli , his son ....)
Simon's best mate Kim [pictured] ripped the bag out of it , on this board at Bogangar one day , while I was visiting ...full Bertlemann cutties to roundhouses to tubed ! [ A little 19 year old at the time 'Chippy' was impressed , I tells ya !]
the venturis sure seemed to work for him !
I'll ask him , next time I'm on facebook
1. the dimensions
2. what became of it
3. if he ever sees erle pedersen at all, on his trips up the coast [ nowadays , Kim lives about 200 metres from you , brett surffoils !]
cheers
ben ['chippy61' ] chipper , in west oz since '83 ....
chipper, I dream of it mate, would love to learn a way to do this in a vac back, ahhhh, one day in the future if I can find the way to somehow keep the shaping up

it was 'ripping down walls' , the movie you were thinking of , the fins on the boards in THAT movie were out of this world [literally ]
thanks huck , I couldn't remember the name of that thread , or else I would have posted them there ...jick , of course !
simon took a shot of him [a watershot] , which may have ended up on that thread , from memory ?
I previously posted on 'interplanetary craft' thread [remember THAT song , in the 1980s .... "calling occupants of ... " , etc .... haha ] , but the photos have long since gone ??? so , that's why I decided to post them here , again ...
I think simon still has at least ONE of these boards pictured above [ I think the kneeboard I mentioned " may" also have been posted by me ["chipfish61" days] in the "swaylocks surfboard design photo thread " , from memory , too ?]
....As I mentioned previous years here , I definately would like to see a 'swaylocks person' here make , glass , sand , polish , and fin a jet bottom of their own one day ! [ and post step-by-step pictures on how they did it , too ]
But , so far , no-one has accepted the challenge ?! ....
Those are super cool looking. I remember seeing a form of those in an old 80’s movie. Can’t remember which one. Wouldn’t think they would work too well in bumpy conditions though. Beautiful patterns.
simon also had a jet bottom kneeboard [ he sold it to the guy who runs surfresearch.com.au ]
His comment on these boards were that " the ones with more area [in the tail] worked better , and smooth faces / clean waves [eg: queensland , where erle is situated] help . "
Erle still makes them [custom orders] , as far as I can see from the 1770 website ...'pandanus' lives near there ...
