OK, I have tryed emailing a few of the guy that sell EPS, I have asked a few of the guys that I know around the area that work with EPS, I have struck out all the way around. Who knows where in NorCal I can buy 2.5lb EPS in long lengths I need at least 12 foot to make a paddle board?
Conveniently located in Williams (on I-5 about an hour north of Sac) is a place called Quality Foam Design (530) 473-5911. They get their foam from Insulfoam in Dixon. They’ll cut you whatever you want. I bought 4 blocks of 2# cut to 2’ x 8’ x 4". It came out to about $28/each. I think they can probably get 2.5 or 3# from Insulfoam.
Insulfoam wouldn’t sell to me directly unless I wanted to order mass quantitites. My local Home Depot wouldn’t order anything, but 1# for me (sweet customer service there).
Seems like there would have to be a smaller distributor in the Bay Area as well.

call the foam producers directly, like Insulfoam (Dixon?), and tell them what your after and ask for a short list of local distributors who you could order through. I called my local Insulfoam, Riverside area, trying to get foam and after talking a little and figuring out what I wanted he turned me onto several local, LA, distributors. They were all quite helpful.
Standard block production I think is 16’ so you should have no trouble getting a 12’ length, but you can just as easily (without sacrafice) glue 4’ onto the end of the 8’ block. Benny1 builds 10’ boards out of 8’ EPS. I’l be building 1 10’ and 1 12’ out of 8’ EPS as well. Just gorilla glue blocks together.

I bought a block 10’x2’x1’ at Bay Foam in Hayward. I also called…(I forgot… That BIG place in Chico…?) Insulfoam, ya and they did the same to me - "We can’t sell to you BUT… we know this place in Fremont.
Call them their GREAT. YOu’ll be able to get exactly what you want.

OK guys thanks for the help, I know have on order a 12ftX48"X46" block of 2.5lb/ft3 EPS foam. Anyone in NorCal want a piece of it for a big guy longboard? If so PM me and we will set something up.
