2 questions on airbrushing and epoxy

do you airbrush before you glass the lam coat or after and can u use epoxy with e glass ?

seal your blank and sand it as normal, then airbrush it using water-based acrylic latex. Use quality paint.

Then laminate as normal, BUT be very careful, as your airbrush can scratch quite easily, especially from your

spreader, during lap prep, and from your glass rack…

…e glass and epoxy go together fairly well, depends upon the brand as each company applies a different

“wash” to their product. Overall, you’ll be fine. ‘S’ glass is a better match to the harder epoxies.

What kind of Epoxy is it? What brand of cloth?

its resin research epoxy and eglass from fiberglass supply.com

you should be fine with that combo. Knowing the specific brand would help predict

whether you will get easy wet-out and complete clarity…

…specific brand means, JPS, BFG, Hexcel, McWorter, etc.

And if it works out well, two red shirt wearing, bikini clad beauties will pop out of no where and try and distract you while your shaping…

Why,

those are my helpers.

don’t you guys have helpers???

I hear you Layz,

I even went to his website to see if there was any more information on PlusOne’s “helpers”.

He’s got it rough.

PlusOne,

When you say quality paint, what do you mean, or maybe I should ask how do you tell?

I’m planning to a board and it includes airbrush work. I was planning on using the Tempra they sell at Foam E-Z or something similar from a craft store like Pearls or Michael’s.

I wouldn’t want to buy the wrong type of paint. Got any recommendations?

Thanks.

I believe its JPS “great white” he’ll be using ( I just recieved a roll from fiberglass supply).
