3 fin to single fin. advice would be very welcome!!

Hi, I’m new to swaylocks, but heard good things.

I’ve got a funny 7ft fat ‘magic carpet’ type board.  I managed to reverse over it few months ago running late for work after a morning session which caused a little bit of cosmetic damage, but more significantly ripped the fins (and plugs) out the bottom of the board.  So I was thinking of sticking a single fin onto it rather than just repair the three fins.

It’s just a fun board, so happy to experiment on it.  Any advice/thoughts you have would be very appreciated!

Happy surfing

I did the same thing with a 6'6" I had made.  It was kind of a thicker step up, and I destroyed all 3 of the fins in an accident.  After I put the single fin on, it actually worked better than ever.  Probably says more about my lack of shaping skills than if it's a good idea for you, but I was pretty happy with my results.  Anyways, it's much easier to replace 1 fin than 3, and you can always put 2 more on later if you don't like the way it works.
