3D-Model of Fins

Hey Everyone!

I`m wondering if any of you has ever designed or copied a fin using 3D modelling software such as Pro/E Catia you name it. If so it would be very cool, if could share the model. I would love to make some tests using a 3Axis CNC machine and foil some fins wiht it. Unfortunately I’m very bad in foiling them by hand.

Best would be a set of twins but I think any other fin would be great too. I would like to alter the model and see what differences it makes if I just change one parameter.

For a start it would also help if any of you could name some Airfoils, that are used as profile for twin fins such as MR style or keels.

I could give you a matrix with the coordinates of a fin surface, if you could do anything with that.

It’s generated by a program I’m writing to calculate a NACA surface for a given contour. (the program is still under development, it has no user interface yet).

Hey!

Had quite a lot to do over the last week. So a late answer. Thanks Hans! Which NACA profiles do you use for your fins? I just designed a copy of a MR template using a singlefoiled profile form this page here

www.worldofkrauss.com

Has a thickness of about 9% of chord( base ) length.

Has anyone of you a suggestion what otherr profiles i could use?
