This is a 4’10" mini simmons I’ve started working on. The rails are made out of thin strips that have the rocker template cut into them. These are then glued together in a jig to give it the outline shape. I’ve been experimenting with this particular method of doing the rails and the times I’ve done it, it has worked really well. As long as you have your jig set up right, the outline shape always comes out nice and you don’t have to do any adjusting later to work out any inconsistencies in the outline. The blocks in the middle are only temporary and are to stabilize the rails upon removal from the jig. I should have more pics soon of the progress.
