4th Gear Flyer surfmat and UDT's LOST at Currumbin Alley, Gold Coast, Australia

Today my blue nylon prototype 4th Gear Flyer surfmat was lost at Currumbin Alley on the Gold Coast, along with a highly modified pair of UDT swimfins. The fins are black/blue marble colored, and the mat is dark blue nylon with yellowish rubber grit on the deck with 3 strips of black ‘Diamondback’ traction on each of the outer pontoons

$ Reward if returned in any condition, as they are mostly irreplaceable.

email jamcclel55@gmail.com if found.

Thanks,

Jamie

lost or stolen?

DAM! i would be running in circles and saying many bad words if this happened to me-----i feel your pain…i hope they return from whatever they have ‘wandered’

G’day Jamie,

Don’t forget to check all the surrounding Cashconverters and pawn shops.

Put a note up at the surfclub too.

Hope you get it back.

Jaimie,

I sent a post to the ASL site. At the northern end toilet block at the Alley there is a door that faces the bend in the road. On the door there is a note for the local boardriders training day. I’d stick a poster there as well as one on the wooden sign that you walk past as you go to the surf. You could include a photo of the fins and that picture Roger posted of you at Greenmount to show that they don’t belong to a kook.

Any luck contacting Coastwatch?

The other thought I had was to try to replicate where they would have fallen off - you would of course need someone to follow you. If they made it out of the car park, there is a sharp first turn then some winding road. The next big turn, presuming you drove the old highway is the highway entrance. perhaps a note on the sign around one of the bends. there are lots of walkers on this route.

Matt- Lost. I actually was dumb enough to drive off with them ontop of the car, being in a rush to get to work on time, i just spaced and drove off, never saw them fly away either…

C.Fish and Bob- I’ve retraced my steps both on foot all the way to the highway and back, as well as by car with an extra pair of eyes scanning the sidewalks and ditches, but no luck. I’ve put up flyers around the toilets, public showers, the wooden signs at the front, and by the lifeguard tower. I also emailed Coastwatch and the Gold Coast Bulletin, so hopefully someone will get the word and they may find their way back to me some day. Thanks for the suggestions and kind words. If anyone has any ideas that I haven’t come up with yet, please let me know, anything might help.

Jamie

ouch! i certainly hope they find there way back to you!
