hi guys, i was wondering if anyone out there is happy enough to pass on the information i have been frustratingly trying to find. My problem is i recently tried out a cambell brothers octafish and was very impressed and would love to make a version of my own i didnt have chance to put a tape measure to it but have found great information on this site and others and are fairly happy with most things apart from one, the placement of the side runners, should they run parallel to each other as alot of people suggest or i have read that they should both point to the same point thus giving a narrower intake to outake giving that famed bonzer squirt. Hope someone can help, cheers!
there is a diagram somewhere in the archives… i looked briefly but didn’t find it.
i’m sure if you look, you will find it.
15 seconds and voila
Here’s where I found a diagram while looking for the same thing.
thanks guys, thanks for your replys, i have come across this diagram myself and it shows the fins to run parallel with each other, is this a lockbox adaption to make the fins run parallel? were as do the cambell brothers set their fins to the same point on the stringer? I am using glass on fins by true aims, not that that should make any difference. Cheers
bump…
anybody have numbers for a 6’4" ish bonzer 5?
Wasn’t the shelter Bonzer a 6’5"?
Always been a fan of that board.
Just shaped one last week that size. Double Wing Thumb Tail. 14-1/2" x 20" x 14-1/2" x 2-1/2".
Single Concave to Vee with some double concave center channels.
I believe the fins were marked at 8" & 14". 1-1/4" from rail. FCS Fusion set.
8-1/2" center fin box @ 4-1/2".
Hope that helps.
thanks Barry!
I think I’ve gathered all the info I need.
ChrisP:
I have a magic Campbell Brothers 6.3 Bonzer5 shaped by Malcolm. It’s the Mini Merk model.
If some fin measurements off of this template would help you, let me know & I’ll try to work them up for you.
Ooh, yah, I’d appreciate it M8r !
