5'11" fish out of 6'7R

I’m sorry for posting this as somebody told me that its in the archives, but I really cant find it…

By hacking off 7 inches off the nose of the blank, does this mess up the rocker? Is this a logical thing to do or should i make something closer to the original blank size?

Thanks…

I used a 6’8"P to shape a 5’11" fish and did exactly what you are asking about. I cut the nose off to get the flattest rocker possible out of the blank. I’m not familiar with the 6’7R, so don’t know what the rocker is like, but assume the same approach would probably work. I don’t think you’ll mess up the rocker. Like every other aspect of the board, your design won’t be a “mess up”. It’ll just be your design and you’ll need to decide if it works or not.
