5'3'' mini fishons quad, build thread

Blank: 6’8’’ had a perfect foil, i only had to use the planer on the bottom so hopefully the deck will be hard. nose rocker is about 3 1/2 inch and tail about 2 1/2’’

lots of tail rocker and a nice v of the tail will hopefully make the board turn easily, and the quad will provided the drive.

The outline is a bit like a fish but then without the fish tail.

This board is made for weaker and smaller waves.

Nice resin rasta colors on the bottom, and no pin line needed

Lookin’ good RT!!!

(I figured I’d give Huck a break tonight)

hi rob / bob / RT,

‘fishons’ refers to what exactly? all along i thought steve lis based his fish design on a simmons, and their rocker profiles seem very, very similar. check out http://hydrodynamica.com/

any rocker pics?

cheers,

mini fishons is a name we made up for this board, because it isn’t a fish but also isn’t a mini simmons. it’s a fish with a mini simmons tail.

i’ll post more pics when i’m finished. this will be within a week.

how wide is the tail?? looks sweet!

Yeah Mon!  Love it!

Let’s hear the ride report soon

~Brian

tail is about 11’’ maybe 11 1/2’', but the ride report might be a problem since i’m leaving (next week)on a surf trip to indo for 3 months, how unfortunate…

there are only waves here tomorrow so maybe finish it today… i’ll give it a go!

here are my other creations,

green twin fin fish is a 5’4’’ x 19 3/4’’ x 2 1/4’', it’s my first shaped board, got some help with glassing but this board is probably one of the most fun boards i’ve ever ridden. from knee high snappers to head high slopes.

alaia is made from a other board that didn’t work. tried it a few times, went down the line oke but I have to work on my skills on that thing. it’s hard!

shortboard didn’t came out as good as i hoped, tail was to thin and overall volume was to little.
