5'8" Retro Fish. First board.

Well, after much trial and error, it’s ready to ride. Hoping the next board goes alot smoother.

Thanks everyone who helped along the way.

rrr: good one mate. looks sure to ride well. happy surfing.

Looks really nice. I’m thinking of doing something similar.

How did you do the paint job?

Looks like paint is sprayed on the glass. If so how did you find going with this method?

cheers, JD

Yeah. My laps needed so much sanding I went through some of the original paint job on the foam. So…went on and glassed and sanded to 220. Painted it again. Then hotcoated again. Then sanded to 200 but again sanded through part of the hotcoat and the new paint. Finally said ‘f’ it. Sanded down to 200 again. Painted with spray paint, and did 3 coats of crystal clear. Read some people in the archives who said they had used crystal clear and works great. It worked for me. A bit ghetto, but I sure as hell wasn’t go to sand down and re-glass. I’m taking this as a learning experience. But I’m def putting this in the water. And on to the next.
