Gearing up to shape my second and third, and have been checking out the pics here. I saw http://www.swaylocks.com/resources/Detailed/408.html and was truly impressed with the side view. I have been seeing the some of the better guys around with some seriously thin boards and was going to take mine down to something similar by hand from a HomeBlown blank (www.homeblown.co.uk) but was wondering if anyone has taken it too thin and cracked it on the first outing. How thin is too thin?
My friend owned a board, which usetato belong to Either Derrick or Michael Ho. The board was used to surf PIPE. It was 1.5" thick/skinny. Now that’s thin brah.
please dont go thinner than 2.25 you just wont enjoy yourself, especially in england. keep the thickness in the centre and just have lower rails.
Cheers mate,Any other tips on Nose and tail thickness. I have seen some seriously thin noses, 1cm or so. I will be using 2x 6oz top deck and 1x 6oz bottom deck, so I am gussing it will be strong enough. The thinner it is the more effort will be required paddling. But easier Duck diving!!
