six man heat sheet … might just be a sheet for writing six people’s scores [? side by side ?] during a surfing competition heat . Hopefully Kokua will chime in here , I think he judges surfing heats in what spare time he ever gets ?

Ahmmm- as some of the imagery put forth is more than a little scary, maybe I’ll just go with this…
I’d throw in a logo and other stuff up top, say to the tune of which heat ( Men’s #3), date and time, which judge or official had this particular copy, etc. Set for landscape mode printing and do a bunch of 'em.
You want one for each judge plus one for your tablulator…you know, the guy with horn-rimmed glasses and a calculator who adds up the numbers and figures out who advances to the next level. Best to have a reasonably bright kid to set up the judges clipboards and so on, and under no ciircumstances let the judges do the adding and such.
A few other things;
If you have the people to do this, you may want a couple variations of this;
One without any heats for your announcer who is introducing the people in each heat with maybe a little blurbage for each in place of the heats and such, "Joe Blow won the prestigious Hormel Chili Lake Erie Pro last year’, etc.
One similar for whoever is setting up the heats, handing out jerseys and so on.
If you have power on the beach for your PA and so on, having a laptop and laser printer there might not be a bad move. This could then be done as a spreadsheet, and once jersey colors have been assigned somebody types in the names and which heat it is and bangs out one copy for each judge. Save As mens1 ( and so on, for each heat) and then calculating results becomes kinda trivial. Especially if you do up your entries as a database.
And yes, I may just have to incorporate this stuff into the non-contest I’m involved in.
