I was wondering if I could get any information about this board that I have had sitting in my shop for years. I know it is an older board and to be over 40 years old it is in wonderful shape. It is numbered 9049 T. The fin is in nice shape as you can see from the pictures. Almost looks like it has a wood inlay. This beast is a 9’8 board! I do not know much about older boards. Could anyone give me an idea of the value of this board? I am wondering if it’s worth storing it back in the shop or should I sell?
Based on the board number, It's a late '66, or early '67 board. The letter T, after the numbers, indicates that I was the shaper. The board is close to 45 years old. Actually appears to be in excellent condition. As a period board, it is surely collectable. As a board shaped by me, there may be additional interest in it. I have been told by some collectors that there collectors that actively seek boards that are attributed to me. Are you in the San Diego area?
