Never ridden a tuflite before.I currently ride a 5’8",20 1/4" wide,2 3/8 thick retro fish.I’m 5’7" and 160-165 pounds.I’ve been told to ride the flyer 2-3 inches shorter than my usual board so would the 6’1" board be to big?The 5’10" just looks way to small. Thanks in advance.
might not be too big, although the tuflite’s are more boyant than poly boards, the fish shape in general is wider nose to tail. If you can find a shop that lets you demo a similar shape and size surftech it would be a hell of alot easier to decide.
The retro fish is ridden significantly “shorter than your normal board”, more so than any other short board shape. So your normal board is actually very short, made up for in width & thickness. At 165lbs I would go no shorter than the 6’1" for a more typical short board outline, regardless of whether it’s a tufflite or not.
Ended up getting a 5’10" Xanadu Matt Rockhold model. It has a fishy template and its 19 3/4" wide.Should float similar to my retro fish.Hadn’t had a chance to take it out yet.No waves.
