6'6" fish

i want to make a 6’6" fish and i wan’t to make it pretty floaty and easy to catch waves. what are good demesions for width. how deep should the fish tail go? and how should i put in fin plugs? any suggestions?

I made a 6’6" for a friend and its around 22 1/2" wide (4"up from center), nose and tail are around 17". It is way floaty and will let an out of shape chubby dude (220lb) catch and enjoy gutless 2 foot sloppy waves.

I am 250lbs and i made a 6’6" 23 wide 3" up, 3" thick with 17 nose 17 tail, 12" between pins 6.5" crack?. Used 3.75" nose rocker and 1.25" tail rocker and 5"by9" keelers.

This floats me well and i could come down a few inches in length on my next one and thin the foil out more in the nose and tail. i posted a thread on building mine a while ago and finished photos are on there.

Do a search on sways on fishes and you will find heaps of info, keep the rocker flat and that will help catch waves. Down load a copy of pdf surfboard design and look at the steve lis fish and go from there scale up to suit.

let me know if you want more detailed dimensions.

cheers

havent been under 100kgs since an 8 week trip to indo living of fish chicken rice and fruit… maybe its time to head back.

“ya need a big hammer to drive a big nail”

or would you like to try the thick ol’ dibben , since you are used to float , and thick twin setup boards ? …
