[…Simon didn’t say what the fin setup was , or the tail shape, by the way ]

Sounds about right is it’s a collector model as his 9’0 standard cheap poly’s are running $1300-$1500 retail.

Another more from Plumeria and these are CNC machined boards made in California

Balsa boards ride and perform differently. The buoyancy of the wood and the chambered construction, combined with the added weight, make it track and slot differently than a foam board. Many people buy balsa boards to hang, or collect. Dick has created this board to do all of that, or you might want to ride it! This ISLAND GUN has all of the design technology of the nineties combined with the wood construction of the fifties and it’s built on a Bones Balsa Blank from Haleiwa Hawaii. What a combination! To see it is to want to own it, now it’s available to you right here online!

And worth every penny of it, any other craft, guitar, boats, etc. and the price is double to triple that. A man who had dedicated his ENTIRE adult life to bulding the best bigwave boards money can buy. Now, it’s about time these masters get their just rewards

KooL! Isurf is a pretty good mag, I like the brewer but $12K…>…???

Over the weekend I saw a hollow balsa Brewer funboard on consignment for $2400. Sounds like a steal. According to two surfers who have been ordering their boards from R.B. for years, the cost of a getting a custom shape from the man has been constantly rising because of increased demand from buyers in Japan.
