9'6 Bunger Down Under Surf and ski

hey all,

I cam across two beat up boards, one is a G&S skip fry, and other is a bunger.  I have stripped the glass, and taken out the stringers as they where trashed.  I am using light weight spackle to fill in holes and fix the rails after stripping the glass.  Any pointers on what I should use for a stringer,  it originally had three  stringer going down the center with a tail block, I was able to save the tail block.  There is alot of brown foam and some concaving going on in the nose and tail.  I have it stripped down to the blank.

Here are some photos will be updating them soon.

any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated, I want to try to make it look as close to a 60’s board when I get it done

That Bunger has a T band. It’s not a triple stringer. There’s a big difference.

There’s a lot of foam missing and you still need to clean it up a lot. At that stage you’ll basically have a foam blank with no stringer. A lot of work to get something out of that mess.

I know its going to be alot of work, but thats half the fun

By the time you get it cleaned up and a stringer installed you’ll have to remove so much original material that I would not call it a “restoration”. I’d go so far as to say that in its current state it is no longer a Bunger, but just a recycled blank.

ok, I am asking for ideas here, not on how I listed the posting
