I thought about selling these planers when I had all of those inquiries.I actually called a wholesaler and found out I could buy them without the case etc. for around $90 dollars each.I had to buy at least 10.I got sick and forgot about it.I still think that there may be a market for them if done right.A guy in Japan wanted 20 of them if I could produce them for around $250.00 each.It was a long time ago.If someone makes them I can sell one to my friend Tuna who is trying to learn how to shape but can’t figure it out.(kidding)

Well then, perhaps you should try our the new Green-Planertm.
For a little more than the price of a ball of yarn you can plan all day knowing that future generations will still be breathing clean air.
(Assuming availability of cat-boxes.)
You can buy them by individually, or by the litter. Our customers have found that when purchased in bulk they are superior to battery packs as they virtually eliminate recharge down-time.
(Volume discounts are also available.)

reinstalled the brushes
i have the same planer and am very interested in this modification. i just dont understand what brushes you are talking about. i havent disassembled the planer at all so i dont really know its inner workings but if you could explain the brushes i would appreciate it.
just curious, I don’t own one of these. But does cutting and glassing the handle make fixing the trigger a problem if it breaks?
Looks like you’d have to do some more cutting to fix the trigger if it broke.
I cut the glass on my handle with a razorblade when it jelled (just like cutting a lap).It is in two parts so you can change the trigger if needed. It’s a nice tool.
cool thread. glad to see it revived. i am going to start this modification project in the next week or two, but i would also like to modify the depth adjust as well. does anyone have any advice or ideas how to go about this? the goal is to have an action similar to the clark hitachi planer (ie, a quarter or half turn of the knob to open/close completely.) i am not mechanically inclined, so layman terms would be appreciated.
thanks for any ideas

The brushes are attached to the 2 black screws that are on the front and back side of the motor.Hope that helps.

That is some funyy sh-t! This product would be need to go see the vet every year. If you get the deaf model (my dancing cat Cassarole is deaf) then you want have to worry about it suffering hearing lose.
They work fine, but I wouldn’t recommend them. Apparently, you have to feed them or they will die. Live and learn. I must have went through a couple of dozen of them before someone pointed this out to me. On the upside, you can usually pick up an abandoned, discarded or stray cat at your local shelter for free - the supply seems to be endless. I was their best customer until I popped for a bag of Meow Mix.

LOL.
I looked into the cordless one and was soooo close to ordering one, but finally found a guy locally selling a used, modified Hitachi with minimal hours and the flexy vacuum hose. STOKED!
