And, what’s more, it’s a blue one… I should really stop drinking. What’s next? Pink elephant (gun)?

Nice... is that an acrylic airbrush on the foam?
D
Balsa,
That's sweet
new racks?
Hi Uncled, yes acrylic but no, not airbrush. Small paint roller.
Thanks, Tom. Far from your yellow and blue sun shine, though…
Hello Tyler! Yes, new racks. Adjustable for any size board, adjustable in height, and fitted with wheels so I can move them out of the shaping room and bring the jointer/thickness planer or bandsaw in for woodwork.
Whit: HAHAHA!!!
Ahahahaha. so unruly!!
is that how you conduct your shop?
Hmmmhhh, let’s see… “unruly”… “unromantic”, “unruffled”, “unruled”, oh yes, here it is: “unruly”: adj. “indiscipliné”.
Me, “indiscipliné”? Well, yes, I’m afraid I am. That’s what my teachers said, actually… “M. Rainfray, vous êtes très indiscipliné!!!”
Wow, “unruly” sounds much better than “indiscipliné”, what do you think? I think I will choose to be “unruly” from now on… Lol.
Balsa: killer work as always!
Not to hijack your tread however your rack configeration is a must.
Can I copy them?

Surfding, are you kidding? Those are state-of-the-art professional surfboards racks and I have a patent pending on them. I will sell thousands of them all over the world and i’ll become rich and famous. I’ll most likely get proposals from Hollywood producers for selling the rights of my world’s best-seller “How I designed and built space-age surfboards racks” and it will be made into a successful movie. Of course, I will play the first part in it. Chicks will be waiting in line behind my door at the Hilton and…
OK, use them if you like…
That’s right!!! Been there, too?
(Incidentally, one of my first girlfriend lived right in front of it. And I lived for something like 3 years in that very avenue -avenue de Suffren- except not on the Seine, but at the far end of the avenue…)
Will you please elaborate? Are you using acrylic right out of the tube or are you cutting it with something? How are you taping the stringer? Do you use wide tape and trim it to size?
Thanks,
Tommy
Tommy, uncut acrylic works best. When cut with water, it tends to bleed under masking tape. Taping the stringer is done using standard 1/4" wide tape by 3M.
Je vie en France (Versaille) pour 5 ans de la debut de 1990.
Cheque Thanksgiving I would go to the Tower Eiffle and have Turkey Dinner at the Hilton there while I was in France.
When I met my wife she was living in Paris. Her Apartment on Avenue de Rome had a perfect view of the Tower.
We met on the Seine at a restaurant called "Q West". My life has not been the same since.
Being a surfer she drove me to the coast every week-end and each holiday to help me stay balanced.
Surfed from Quiberon to Spain and all the spots in between. I shouldn't tell anyone that France has good surf!
My family will rent a house on the beach in the south of France for a month this summer.
May have to have you make us some boards for the trip?
Acid Splashed and Zebra Stripes!
Surfding, if you need any help with the house, let me know. My wife works in real estate over here and she might be able to help you out. And of course I will gladly make boards for all of you, no problem.
In 1990, I had already been living in Guéthary for 3 years. Before that, I lived in Paris and only hit the Basque Coast on holidays. I never regretted to have moved south, far from it…
A picture tells a thousand words. Thanks for that. So simple. Simplicity rocks!.
Next board i do, i'll probably use that idea.
