yeah
for hobbyists that system is fine, i use it myself
but it does NOT suck up huge amounts, at least not with my unit.
and the electrical cord still has to be taped or attached to the hose, not perfect still

Too bad if you missed a chance at getting the Clark set-up, the slide-door table alone was worth
what they charged for the whole system. And they came and installed it for me!
The current sensors are adjustable for 0-90 second delay, look for one like that so you can pick
your own setting. 20 seconds works for me except when I get a phone call and have to wait for
the vac to cut off. The Clark unit also has an override switch so you can just turn the vac on
independent of the planer when you want to vac the floor, etc. There’s a coupling in the ‘‘plumbing’’
that you disconnect to attach the ‘‘normal’’ vac hose and attachments.
Paul’s comment about the filter reminds me of a trick lots of us use to keep the filter from filling
up in all it’s corrugations. We slip a lady’s stocking over the filter. Tap on the side of the housing
and most of the dust just falls off.
Get with me before you come to Florida and we’ll have a Coil waiting for you!
Bosch makes a vacum similar to the Festool. A few bucks less. All the same features.
Remembered to look at my Clark vac today; it’s a ‘‘Shop Vac’’ brand 2.0 hp, 8.5 amp.
It’s marked ‘‘Industrial Duty’’. I’ve done close to 1500 boards on it and haven’t even
changed the brushes yet. Only hiccup has been clogging the plumbing a couple of times
going fast on big stringers (don’t do that anymore, don’t do any stringers 99% of the time).
Now that I said that about the brushes they’ll go out tomorrow…
edit to say: make that over 2000 boards, I forgot a year or can’t count years or something.
…Mike, ok thanks
I ll check the Italian vac specs to compare
