adjusting wide point

what are everyone’s thoughts on the widepoint? what happens if you play with it and move it around? how is performance affected?

I’ve seen widepoints vary from nearly two feet forward of center on extreme “point and shoot” guns to nearly two feet behind center on the old “Malibu Pig” hot dog designs. Those two extremes should clue you in to how the positioning of widepoints will affect overall performance. Most modern shortboards are shaped with the widepoint near center +/- a couple of inches. If you move it back and increase tail rocker you will effectively shorten the turning radius of the board (think verticals, tight cutbacks, etc.) Moving it forward and flattening tail rocker will increase the turning radius(think drawn out square turns.)
