Advice on a 6'2" Twin Keel

Is a 6’2" too big for me - I’m 6’1" 190lbs - I normally ride a 6’6" and a 6’8" thruster - Thinking of buying a used KG twin - Any advice would help

If you’ve never ridden a keel fish: try and buy. Chances are you will enjoy it. I’m sure if you don’t like it, somebody will want it.

Good luck.

im about the same size as you, and i ride a 6’4" that i shaped…6’2" should be fine…my fish is huge but it still works like one

Whenever you discuss surfboard size, you have to include width and thickness.

Some fish are 20" wide. Other’s 22.5.

Just Buy a board and try it out, those things are so hot right now that somebody will definitly take it off your hands if you do not like it. I have shaped a few of those boards, 6’0"x23.5"x2.5" Haven’t had one complaint. I am 6’1" 190lbs and I ride boards in that range. I remeber when I first rode one and it was tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll have the time of your life.

Hey

I’m about i nteh exact same boat as you. I normally surf a 6’6" to 6’8" short board. I’ve also got a 6’2" * 22" fish and it is sooooooo much more fun than hte short board.

If you’re getting a clark 6’2" C blank for this board I’d suggeest getting the rocker lowered by about -2" in the nose and -0.75" in the tail.

Enjoy
