Aku Shaper software

I’m guessing 12. Maybe just turned 13

Ha ha…

Drop some elbows and all that shiz. Bring’em out here on the Peninsula Mike, we got plenty stump holes to fill up. No one gets found on

the Rez Land ya know.

Made it through my 5 Axis Cnc school at Thermwood. It’s all good now.

Damn dude!

Gettin all techno on us and stuff.

Why do all the planer mods if you’re just gonna cut everything on a machine?

I’m just kiddin around…jealous is what’s really goin on.

Good job!

Hhaha, Todd,

Whats up buddy?

Ya the planer mod thing is just fun. I get bored at work sometimes, haha. I have no bread for the 3 axis SOOPAH DUPAH Ewaliko surfboard machine… so I’m just kicking rocks for now. Infact my shaping room is so small I can’t shape anything over 7’6". Hows that for back yard :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you getting a cnc? I’ll come run it for you

Chris and Jeff came over yesterday to pick up a few new sticks. Its really funny to watch how new boards get examined, spun around and put through ye old inspection…

Do me a favor and drop in on them each a few times…

They let some kid ride one of my 6’3 and it came back completely trashed…

dam kids…

And for Flatlands

I sold my AR15 after 00 when the world continued to exist… I do still have an sks, 1 sawed off, a Taurus 9, and my prized Desert Eagle XIX.

As a matter of fact I am getting a CNC… as soon as I win the lottery! HAHA

Wow! you can do a 7’6" in yours? once again…jealous.

Hell! And I’m trying to make a business outa this damn thing!

When they were trying to talk me into this thing I said, “What kind of idiot starts a surfboard company?”

                        well...you're lookin at him!

I’m the guy covered in foam dust, paint and resin, scratching his head like he’s trying to figure out what’s going on…yup…that’d be me.

Hey Mike,

Just give me a good ole M107 or an AS50…they’ll never know what hit em.

I’m really non violent…well …

I just hope this doesn’t happen to the others. They should not have to live in fear of what tweety bird may do if you don’t join his cub scouts. To make customers choose a side is dictatoriah. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to get a royalty fee per cut next. They tried that shit early on if I recall. That was why the needed to sniff your drive. You pay for the machine plus a fee per cut. I think they changed that after the public started booing.

I agree…in a competitive industry, INCLUSION is a sure fire key to success.

I saw this demonstrated over and over while I was designing and building recording studios and selling high end studio recording gear.

Recording industry people get really ticked off if they can’t move their sessions from studio to studio.

So the key to it all was making sure the stuff would work just about anywhere.

Same principal applies here.

You would be shooting yourself in the foot to make a data system that only works on in one place or on one unit.

Either that, or your system had better be SO FAR SUPERIOR that no one would want to use anything else.

I was using the free AKU software for a while. And yes, mine finally stopped working too.

Now I mess with Shape 3D and Board CAD, but their free versions are missing some of the cool features that were available

in the AKU version. Not the least of which is the 3D image or “shaping room” function.

So…now I’m bummed…

Oh well, at least I didn’t pay $12g for it…So my heart goes out to you bud.

Todd,

If you want some CAD/CAM software, fully functional with out a real big investment, I’d highly recommend getting BobCAD/CAM. It’s fully functional, proven over many years on many machines. Also, it’s much more versatile in that you can use it for something other than a surfboard. Like fins maybe? Or whatever. All around, just a much more powerful software.

Hey TD

My only reservation about a general “CAD” program is…I don’t wan’t to have to learn a CAD program to design a darn surfboard.

Is that lazy? I just need “idiot proof”…because I probably qualify! LOL

I’ll look into it though…just because you recommend it bud.

Well, I’ve been intending to tackle this one myself, but maybe we can work on something together again.

After settling on a cad/cam software, I was going to take the time to construct various generic templates to work with.

This way, you wouldn’t have to start from scratch each time. It wouldn’t be too hard, the learning curve is there no doubt,

but using a solid proven software is the ticket.

Look around, tell me what you find, maybe you like a different software title. The thing is it has to be able to aid in design, but

also generate the G&M machine codes for the cnc when finished.

Mike might have an alternative coming around the bend (crosses fingers), who knows what the Mad Hawaiian is up to? Hahaha…

Hopefully a full functional software cad cam package

Hey! I don’t know if it will transfer, but I have all my AKU files.

I’m pretty sure I could whip up some decent templates in Board CAD and Shape 3D pretty quick as well.

If we can figure out which ones will transfer, I’ll make a bunch up.

At least that way there would be a reference point to start from.

How about that Mike!

This thread could turn into the “alternative to AKU” thread.

OOPS! I take that back.

The version of Board CAD that I have DOES have the 3D shape view of designs.

That makes me feel a little better.

The free version of S3D is really pretty good… The 3d functions are more of a luxury the anything. Boardcad is very feature rich and soon will have a cnc version to run machines. Both are good softwares.

We have used solidworks and a few other the issue is they are not geared toward shapers and are not surfer friendly. If you work with these programs you can figure ways to make it somewhat efficient but they will never be as userfriendly as S3D and Boardcad.

tick tick tick shake tremble arghgghghghghgh ccccccccaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaacccccccckkkkkk!!!

NOTE: I do not mention AKU… Because it doesnt do you anygood if they can swipe it away from you or sniff the info on your Hardrive.

Besides it should be called MIKU if anything since most the brains behind it was MIKI’S > the inventor of the APS3000- The first to use a disc cutter on a surfboard and the rightful owner of his technology discoveries. Its funny how people try to justify their wrong doings even though they admit on the www who the inventor was and publically stated what involvment they had… These types are the same sell outs that would probably sell plutonium to OSAMA if they had it.

The World is flat is their bible…

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Don’t worry Mike

Things have a funny way of coming around.

Remember my post from earlier about “inclusion over exclusion” and mark my words.

It may not happen in a time frame that WE like…but it will happen.

Meanwhile…you feel free to keep venting…we will keep letting you cry on our shoulders(figuratively of course…you big tough guy)

And we may(or at least I might) make fun of you about it from time to time.

OH! and originalsin and I will figure out a NEW alternative to AKU!

Todd,

I appreciate it. Its actually really good therapy for us. I’m sure some my get annoyed but hey you don’t have to read it. If it is entertaining I apologize it is not intended this way. I actually wait for jabs by a few in particular but they have not showed up in the Coliseum.

I know I know my Dad would have told me not to respond to turn the other way cut your loss. But you see I have been Aku’d and the impact on others as well they just dont realize yet or are to scared to talk shit to the clowns.

I’m tired of companys like this… You know how many times I have seen this crap across different industries. Bullying the small guys while having a larger companys dong slappin their cheek thinking they can get away with crap like this. Yes I have good reason to talk shit except shit is actually the TRUTH, and I have a right to under the US constitution which my Hawaiian ass will exercise like Jack Lallane!

Like I said I will gladly accept a 12k check in fact they can donate the money directly to Childrens Hospital or Fred Hutch Cancer research in the name of the surf community…

Then I will turn my back and walk away… Maybe even praise their willingness to correct their wrong doing.

Until then…" I got more coming " Much Much more…

Its the final countdown doooo doooo doooo deeeee deeeee deeee deeeee doooooo doo dooo doooo dooo dooo deee dooo eooo THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

Wow! That was a great text rendition of “The final countdown”. I could hear it exactly how you wrote it.

I may be kinda new around here, but I’ve got enough personality for like 12 people.

I can deliver PLENTY of fun spirited jabs.

I got you covered bro!

I always disliked that song… who wrote that pile anyway?

A wonderfully masculine 80’s band by the name of Europe. (I’m being facetious of course…very glam…very girly)
