Alaia's and epoxy preference

I know the which glue do you use for your alaia has been half near beaten dead with epoxy being one of if not the main front runners for more durable boards and I’m considering moving from tight bond. THis may have been covered in other post and i may have missed it but my question is what flavor of epoxy? 5 minute or surfboard lam resin? And if it is surfboard lam epoxy do you need to do a cheater coat and such to help prevent the wood from soaking up all resin leaving the joint drier then necessary?

thanks

to glue up an entire blank, you want to use marine grade epoxy glue, not laminating resin or 5 minute epoxy. It takes longer to set - 10-24hrs.

this will be the strongest join and it will end up being stronger than the wood itself. you should be able to get it from any boat building supply store.

good luck.

Thanks.
