This is my first post here. I was told about this site from a prominent North Shore shaper and he was right… Its a cool site! I’m new to shaping and am working on only my 10th board. A complete amateur! Just stoked to finally be making the boards I want when I want and of course, at a very affordable price. So far I’m happy with all my boards with one really outstanding one. I shaped them all completely different to fill my quiver.
I was born and raised in Hawaii and surf mainly on the North Shore but will drive to town or the West side for good waves… Just got off a great week of surf on both North and South shores… Converted my garage into this shaping room and my storage is now full of surf stuff, glassing supplies etc… Haha!!! Aloha and glad to be here!

My first stand up paddle surf machine… 12’ x 28" x 5-1/8" Freaking behemoth!!! This was my dirt bike workshop/storage but now its also a part time glassing room… Notice one of my poor neglected bikes buried back there…Hehehe…
…I look forward to seeing those blanks one by one becoming boards …sounds and looks like you’re hooked already , mate !! (hope you have a few friends who surf to try out all those boards for you / buy from you ! )

Hahaha! Only one of those is still on the rack. I shaped the others already but I went out and bought 6 more blanks. I’m soooo freaking hooked!!! Buwahahahaha!!! My quiver is getting way out of hand! Every blank is for a completely different board. I really enjoy shaping. I worked 12 years as a carpenter and I HATED it! Shaping boards I LIKE!!! I just do it for the enjoyment and satisfaction of surfing my own designs.
I got a bunch of orders for boards already but I turned them down. I even tell them they’re crazy cause I’m so new at it but I guess they like what they see and probably think I’ll do it cheap! Like you say, I’ll just sell my used boards… Hehe… I make my living outside of surfing.
And yes, Bill told me about this place! He said I’ll find great stuff here and good info. He was right…
I used to shape and glass with a MontesaCappra, a Scorpion, and an X-6 Hustler in the background, in various states of disrepair…
Rags over open lower ends, foamdust in the pipes and carbs, just the way it worked out…
But I gravitated the other direction, getting more and newer bikes, getting out of Novice and into Intermediate and Expert, so ended my shaping in the late '70’s…
