I may get fried for saying this but I think the new plastic ones might actually be better than most of the RTM fins. Both are molded, not machined or hand foiled. That’s why they’re less expensive. Some people have complained about RTM fins breaking down on them, particularly the cheap imports from you-know-where.
Longboard sidebite plus 2 minutes with a belt sander = problem solved. The composite SB1s sell for $20 a pair. If you wanted to add some inside foil to the leading edge you could probably do that in a few minutes with a sanding block.
Yeah I saw those too and couldn’t find out anything about them which probably means they are made in Taiwan or China like Edgecore fins which are similar. Looks like the logo has been photoshopped on. I agree the Futures quad rear options suck, the biggest problem is the coposite ones only come in 50/50 foils. Would be nice if they made some flat sided or 80/20 foils in the composite so you could mix and match with your thruster fronts. Hey but then you wouldn’t have to drop $100 on a their glass/hexcore sets which I’m sure they love.
The sidebites work but I think they are too small. I like the template and cant on the composite 3.75" or the 4" rears but that foil sucks. I put 3/4" boxes in the back so I can use fronts but the cant is too much, I guess you could lessen it when installing the boxes.
Like you said gdaddy I like the new composite material, I have a thruster set of the F6’s and they work great and are cheap.
