where’s Velzy Is greg Noll gonna beat him to sign up these guys?Or perhaps Dr.paskowitz ? these guys could really use some help spending their set up money…who will fund this revolution …thank god its finally come and we can get a good board made without that damnable stringer…HAS THE SWEDISH CHEF DONE IT AGAIN or what?Kudos sound bite video guy the motor cycle ramp bit wow Im sold ! Surfed the mat 3 hrs sunday and wished you were there dale, and all you other guys too…nobody out for a mile in either direction an 300 people picnicing on the beach oblivious to our ecstatic mirth jimmy wants all the mat guys to come an eat some day soon …swaylocks east shore kauai ?with day trip adjustments to all other shores…??? this weekend?..or next?ambrose
“our ecstatic mirth”??? I desire to hear Ambrose talk surf mat stories!! What kinda waves do you Kauaiacs surfem on? Do you surf like you write? Most excellent word style!
surf like I write?hmmmmmmmmno I write sitting down I surf erect or prone, sitting down is another kuleana(sp) ambrose… andi surf a little obtuse …like I write so only a few understand or appreciate
Naw, you ain’t obtuse, man, you’re abstruse! I’d love to mat up with a contingent in HI…party wave bumper cars hand hold group shot…mommy won’t let me skydive anymore. Regarding the stringerless eurostix–those shapes look a bit underdeveloped to me, but isn’t the overall flex pretty appealing tho? I don’t understand the technology–what is it?
Does anybody have the info on what these are made of? What kind of foam and what kind of resin?
That video loop of the guy jumping up and down on the board is pretty wild!
It’s only a guess, but maybe fiberglass comingled with thermalplastic. Kind of like a thermalplastic prepreg. Vetrotex makes twintex. There are several other verions avaiable. Main problem is the high temp the core would be required to withstand during production. Sluggo
Could it be that their boards are made with some kind of polyethylene fiber? Dyneema fiber?? Glassed with epoxy?
Maybe Dave Parmenter have to reconsider his view on new technologies and polyester/polyurethane being the best material for surfboards since it flexes… I think the guy running surfingirland.net who planned to make the fat penguin was working with Bufo. There was an article in a mag about this new technology, but it didn’t really provide any information except for the usual buzzwords. Maybe the surfingirland.net dude can shed some light on the issue. regards, Håvard
the guy from bufo is a German living in scheveningen Holland. I seen his boards in a shop. It looks the same as PU-foam, laminated very clear and very white. A 6.2 weights only about 2 kilo. His shapes are designed for the Duth waves. He claims that a Dutch(Michel Smiths) European championship longboard surfer, test his boards. In Biaritz and a local event the guy surft with a regular polyester board, so i doubd his shapes.
