Bad week for airlines sevicing HI. I was due to fly Tuesday. Fortunately I got a UA flight but I may never get the money back from ATA.

Never go against an “airworthiness directive” issue.

My wife and I were talking about airlines,as see flies frequently.

I mentioned Aloha and she said ATA went south as well.

We both went to the internet to check prices for tickets to Hawaii,and the prices tripled in seconds right in front of our eyes.

Hawaiian Airlines Hilo/Honolulu-San Francisco-8/7/08-8/16/08-for $480. Thats not tripled , i checked 4 days ago. What airline are you refering to?

Howzit Herb, Not sure where you are checking flights but I just checked Hawaiians site and a round trip to Vegas and back is around $676. And I didn’t check any of the other airlines, that’s about what it was a couple of weeks ago. Gotta make reservations for a trip over this summer.Aloha,Kokua

I go thru an agent…United and/or American, I think it was…it was about 350/400 or so before the fall…and after…

…the prices were close to like 800-900.

Howzit Herb, Since I am making a trip over this summer I’ve been checking prices lately, United, Delta and Hawaiian are the cheapest. $300- 400 has been for a one way and for the return about $275. Seems strange that a return is cheaper but that’s what they are showing. Another strange thing is in the past fares were more for people coming from the mainland then for us flying to the mainland. Don’t think it’s like that anymore. Also usually if you travel after Labor Day fares are cheaper since the maddening rush is over. Actually prices aren’t that much more than when I came over in 2001, my ticket cost over $500 for a round trip ticket. Using an agent always cost more since they have to add their commision, go online and book or find what you like and call the airlines .Aloha,Kokua
