Announcing BoardCAD v1.0

Thanks Otis. Much appreciate the response.

Yes your suggestion to use the sample boards aligned with Haavards.

Forest and trees thing - just the kind of obvious thing I was missing.

Boardcad is working on the sample files and the board is rendering in 3D.

My file is probably not well formed. Quite possble, since it originated as a S3D file.

The curse and challenge of the data age - trying to get different bits of software to interchange data seamlessly.

Having some difficulties with slow performance. Can I give it a shot of espresso?

Im on a mac.

Hi,

what mac would that be?

If you have problems with slow performance, there are a few things you could try. Turn of curvature, anti-aliasing, original and ghost board when you don’t need it. This usually does the trick. If you are the crosssections, use control point interpolation. This is by far the fastest interpolation method. If this doesn’t do the trick, more memory and a faster CPU is a sure winner. Good luck.

Thanks Haarvard, I will check it out.

A hearty thanks to the boardcad team, you’ve done a great job.

I’m trying to find a convenient way to export the different cross sections to DXF or any other common CAD format—I want to be able to modify them (offset curves, add holes, etc), then plot or send to a CNC machine for HWS templates. Does anyone have any hints?
