Another Fin Box placement question 8'6"

So I have looked, searched and learned a bunch already especially with the latest thread on the same question

( http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/single-fin-placement-help-7-0 ) on where to place my fin/fin box.

Details are: Board Length: 8’6" tail:12.5" S-deck style board to be similar to an Andreini “Serena” aka Vaquero Pintail.

I have made two fins one being an 8" vintage style point break fin and the other is a 9" LFlex template.  The marks on the fin are 20%, 25% and 30%.

Anyways,
my tail is thin and the farthest back that I can place the finbox
without punching through the other side is 8".  Going by what I have
already learned I should set the fin box anywhere between 10" to 12" up
from the tail.

My question…is 10"-12" the correct placement for
the fin box?  It honestly seems too far up from the tail from a visual
aspect.  Pics are attached…
