hello…its been along time since my last post here…i just woke up today with the idea of
stripping an old board of mine and recycle it into a new usable (not for me, probably my brother
whom is lighter in weight) surfboard…it took me a couple of hours to strip it using a carpet knife and
what i think you call a chisel (flat and sharp…about 1 inch wide)…it went ok, there are some gashes
and bruises so ill need to spackle abit…
this board went from a type of bigboy shortboard 66...to a short fishshape 5
3, reason being i accidentaly
pulled a big bit of foam off removing the last piece off glass on the tail, so its short…
i made the fishtail with the idea i could keep the fcs plugs on the sides, the trailing plugs being gone where the
buttcrack is…hope its possible to understand me…it measures something like 5 inches from the tip of the tailwing to
the trailing plugs…i was thinking of making a quad set up…glassing on fins in front of excisting fcsplugs…
so…do i have to remove the plugs now or does anybody have any good tips on how i could attack this problem of
mine?..there seems to have been a repair on a couple of the plugs as there is a very hard plastic filler around them, which
i did not dare to start chipping away at…being afraid of pulling up too much foam…so again is there away to leave the plugs
in and glass the board?..thanks…hope all is good…ill also post pics soon of the fish i started ages ago…finished it
the other day…
