another resin pigment question......

so i have this customer and i had shaped his board and airbrushed it solid blue…

he didn’t like the color so i sanded down the foam with 220 grit enough to remove the paint but not mess anything up

brushed the colors he wanted and then glassed…

i guess he didn’t like that either… so i sprayed the exact color he wanted on top of the glass and clear coated it…

if he doesn’t like it

my last idea is to gloss coat it with a lil bit of pigment in it…

should i do this or not… i don’t wanna tell the guy to fuck off because he is a friend/customer and i don’t want a bad rep…

i want to do what ever possible to please this guy, even if it means shaping a new board…

thanks in advance

Rick,

I don’t know about epoxy so, I’m assuming you’re using poly and used acrylic paint and a poly hot-coat…

After sanding the hot-coat,you can spray a coat of the same acrylic color over it then gloss over that. It really brightens up the color though you have to be very careful sanding the gloss (obviously).

Try using Herb’s technique of using Future floor acrylic instead of water to mix the paint with.

Hope that helps.

Pete

If he’s a friend, tell him to spray it the right way and bring it back for glassing. if he doesn’t like the way he painted it, tell him to take a hike. You probably not even charging him full price either. Blue always darken up when it gets wet.
