The reason I ask is because I just signed one of the best aerial surfers in the world, and all he wants is $400.00 a month and a board under his feet. I thought it would run me alot more than it did, since my boards will be at all of the big air shows and in most of the mags. Anyone else here pay riders? If so how much? Thanks, Chris.
Sponsor? Yes. Pay? No. I’m really not a particularly talented shaper in any way, but I do “sponsor” a friend of mine. He takes a stack of my business cards and hands them out, I make him insane boards like this:
For cost. We have an understanding that if he gets me enough orders there may be some talk of a “free” board. After less than a month he had me 5 board orders. He’s more like my rep in that regard, but I’m not going to complain.
