Anyone finding blanks on the East Coast?

I finding it harder and harder to find blanks on the East Coast. Anyone having luck? Looking for mainly longboard blanks. They seem to be in shorter supply!

EPS abounds

PU…not so much

They seem to be in shorter supply!

Gee, I wonder why.

Its not like the factory shut down or something.

Oh it did?

Holy crap!!!

Even for EPS, freight is a problem with longboards unless you are going to get a bunch to justify the shipping.

Where are you located gregg?

NO one is getting TDI urethane longboard or fish blanks.

NO one is making them, no one is importing them.

There are 70 EPS factories in the USA running 24/7.

Any one of them can supply the entire custom surfboard building industry for an entire year with just a one week run.

There is no foam shortage in the USA. Just a shortage of braincells.

Central Florida is up and runnning. They never skipped a beat. The shapers and glassers there have been alternating between materials seamessly for years behind the leadership of Greg Loehr and Resin Research. There are plenty of leaders in California too. Rusty and Kane Garden to name two of the biggest. The leaders are not waiting for the boat. They are fired up and charging ahead into the future.

Hey STW, where are you located, Aren’t you the guys that started making eps blanks?

If so, prices for a shorty…

I’m in Indian Harbour, stones throw from Resin Research…

Josh

Josh ,

Yes we are making close tolerance EPS Blanks here in Indian Harbour beach.

I e-mailed you a price list and our phone #.

Thanks,Paul

Now anyone with actual help? Looking for longboard blanks in the North Carolina area.

Gregg

I actually was trying to help you. Good luck!

SURFSTHEWORD,

Actually I was responding to some of the earlier comments and yes you were trying to help me so thanks for trying. When your lifes work depends on material that is harder and harder to find (especially for the smaller guys) you don’t find sarcasm that funny at least at this moment I dont. I only work with PU blanks and poly. Thanks again.

Gregg

Thanks Gregg,

Please don’t take this as sarcasm or a sales pitch. But now might be a good time to do a little experimenting with EPS and Epoxy since winter is usually a little slower time of the year. The materials should be pretty easy to get, either from your local supplier or us. We carry all size blanks, epoxy resin, and cloth. And would be glad to walk you through the whole process. All this just in case by spring nothing has changed with the PU blank situation. From what I’m seeing all the big guys are getting all the PU blanks. Making a epoxy board is really not that much different than making a PE board.

Regards,

Paul

Hey,

Any chance of getting you to send me a price list, rocker templates available etc?????? At least till I run out of Poly resin. I just started back to shaping when the December BOMB dropped, I'm a hobby shaper. Hey, but if enough people need P/U blanks???????maybe I could do custom orders...

If you’re looking for PU, I’m not sure. But check this out:
