Hmmm… seems like you got the same impression I did. I just thought I’d steer clear of that one. What’s with the rep for localism?? Is it as bad as all that, or do they just pick on beginners and out-of-towners? Thanks for the heads up though.

They do seem to take Surf ER&ING a little to literally, not enough drama up there.

Got your PM Jeremy, you’ve got mail. The localism thing is heaviest on the south island just due to the fact that the area rarely recieves swell, the takeoff zones are narrow, and its close to a big city. Just show up, say hello wait your turn and everything is cool. Same as anywhere else. Anyone gives you crap, surf harder than they do and that will shut em up. Most of them talk harder than they surf.
