Anyone have a Knob for a Skil 190 and some blades?

I just ordered a Skil 100 belt and a knob from Robin Mair and realized it wont fit my Skil 190. The Skil 190 has the threaded rod/bolt that the knob screws down onto while the Skil 100 knob and bolt/rod screw into the threaded body of the planer. the threads are a bit thicker as well.

I just rewired it and it runs as smooth as a '68 Camaro SS with a Chevy 396 and 4 on the floor. The blades are in a serious need of some sharpening or replacement. Both blades are chipped like hell and so dull, I had to pull the Clark Hitachi out to skin the blank today! yikes!

Most professional saw sharpeners can regrind the blades. Must be done in pairs, to maintain balance. A substitute knob can likely be made from a ''cue ball ‘’, that has been drilled and tapped to fit the screw in your Skil 190. Let me know if I can help you. Send me a PM.

I have excess to drills, taps, and dies. If you got me the thread pitch and the Q ball I could drill it and tap it for you. I would do this for you and all it would cost you is a way of contacting Robin Mair, I need a dust shoot for my Skil 100, and I would gladly buy the skil 100 knob from you as well.

Robin posts under the handle “hand-shaper”. I have his contact info.
