I’m building a 6’10" lil rascal… But I’m making it asymentrical. me back hand is horrible and I’m trying to improve it.
I’m not sure what to do ?? should I put a BIG Twin fin on my front hand side and a set of QUAD fins on my back hand ?? That’s what I’m seeing a lot of on the web.
BUT !! I was thinking of going BONZER with a single… that means the bonzer fins would be off set…
Any thoughts ?
(oh and thanks Brian from Greenlight, helping spark my shaping passion. )
Seems to me you could go with a symmetrical fin setup if you went bonzer as the finlets are more forward than standard fins. That said, their's really no reason they have to be the same both sides. I've ridden my asymmetrical as a quad with the frontside fins being further back than the backside and it worked just fine.
Anyway, cool looking tail outline, keep us posted on progress.
I surf goofy footed… and this is a picture of the bottom.
I’m making the longer rail for my toe side and the shorter rail for my heels.
I’m going to go with Bozer fin set up, because I have a cambells brother board 15 years ago and I loved it… until I broke it in half landing a floater.
also the single fin on a asymentrical might be the best set up… and the finlets of the bozer, might give me the right balance.
The more I’m reading is that my toe side rail should be thinner then my heel side rail. I’m not sure I’m going to do that.
ok so i got the board back today… heres the fins in… I think I’m going to have to take out the toe side rear fin to get it to flow better on the toe side.
