Attention North County SD folk

How goes it gang this is Darren. I have an 18 foot long trailer that I have converted into a shaping/ glassing bay. The only thing I dont have is for somewhere to legally park it. Thus if you guys have a driveway, side yard or lax parking laws, we could be in business. Best case scenario is that we park the rig at your place and we can both shape/ glass there. I have been working a lot recently so you would have almost free reign over the bay. If you go any ideas, suggestions, barters or deals let me know. Darren

ps. I wasnt sure what section to put this in so moderaters feel free to move it.

Freakin’ anarchist…this may already be the best post of February 2007…live free or die…don’t know if you’ve posted here before darren but welcome…

Sheet, Darren,

Park it out front of Cap’n Keeno’s. Cheep grinds when you’re not shapin. Mike

Dude, you should shape a board in that thing while you’re haulin’ it 80 mph on the Freeway. You’d have braggin rights of being the fastest shaper in the world.

Yeah but you’re 6 foot ten.

Bet youse guys are impressed with his 6 foot six thrusters now, eh?

Come on guys. This is baisically a free shaping bay. I spent years looking for somewhere to shape without making a mess of the surrounding property and this is it. If you are new to shaping I am sure I could teach you a bit too. Don’t be shy. Darren

i’d love to have you park it out front of my house…i live in south florida.

Some ideas:

At night there are lots of places that have businesses or lots with buildings (there is an abandoned IBM building with a parking lot near my work, in Caramel Valley / Rancho Bernardo if you want to know where PM me) you could roll your vehicle into. You’d have to scope it out for a few nights to make sure no cops patrol near or they don’t have security.

Another place is Miramesa business center … . Miramesa and Flanders have open places.

Or pick any sort of neighborhoods and roll your vehicle up there . . . but usually it would be one night and make sure its moved off during the day . . .

Hey Darren, you could park in my neighborhood but it is at your own risk.

Issues with my 'hood

  1. Police. The police roll through there and one house I think a cop (now could be promoted to detective status) lives there. A few years back cop cars kept coming in and out daily. They still show but its every few days. My dad has a car sitting in our driveway with expired tags by 2 months and it got a ticket. I got a fix it for my cracked windshield of my last car ( new near new car got a crack but its on the passenger side so I guess they don’t see it).

  2. Some of the families here have big time parties with Ranchero music blasting and they invite all their friends and relatives so weekends the block is lined with cars. Sometimes they will double park if they know a certain vehicle isn’t going to be moving (like this guys camper)

2a) these people can be territorial and also there are people without jobs / retired / free timers, and spend whole days in their house. A neighborhood watch if you will, so they notice unusual vehicles and will call for investigations.

  1. a few other families have large campers and park them (there is one across the street from my house)

  2. I live in South San Diego, well below the 54 freeway. I could theoretically walk to the border within a decent amount of time.
