Attn:Tomatdaum/Red-X Fins................and 5200 Quickset...........

Tom,

THANKYOU VERY MUCH !!!

For turning me on to the 5200 Marine Adhesive.

Man,I gotta tella you boy…I stumbled onto something big for your boxes…I just over gap the holes a bit…okayokayokay…alot.

The results are : I have a lively-er flex IN THE FINS AT THE BASE…PLUS…HERE’S WHERE Blaystal(sp?) should pay attention…the fins swivel…not much…but …MAN!!!

…This is a board is you can ride,volume/shape-wise,Tom…you have to try it for yourself…Herb

Hi Herb -

Do you think it would be good to glue up a stringer in a blank?

Without a doubt John…and would be tough as nails on top of that.

Glue-ups have been done for some time and it has been taken to the next level, as GG

turns a bit tan/brown next to the stringer with sunlight exposure…

…shapes beautifully and adhesion is great when the clamping is done properly. Production

times are fast, like 8 minutes or so per glue up.

…dee Aussies foam dont use resin to glue the stringers…

PlusOne, how does 5200 save glue up time? Doesn’t it take days to set?

Oops! Sorry Greg, I was thinking about a modified material that seems similar.

Cure is accelerated when pressure is applied. A couple blank makers said they

were using a similar material that was a cross between Gorilla/urethane and Quickset.

I should read the threads more carefully!

Already in beta testing. Except they don’t swivel “not much”, they rotate from 1/4" toe-in to 1/4" toe out. The testing said by far the most important determination of performance was where the toe-in rotation stopped. Of course, it was EXACTLY where the inside rail fins on a thruster are fixed. So, my system lets the fins rotate in toe-in and toe-out. On a turn, the inside rail fin hits the 1/4" toe-in mark and stops. And that is what makes it all work. Every turn is a two fin turn, and the rail fins practically disappear from a drag point of view between turns. If you don’t think there is much drag from those fins when you go straight, you just haven’t tried surfing when they can rotate to align with the flow. Faster and skatier, and more thrust in turns than a thruster.

I’m having trouble visualizing what you are saying. Can you talk me through it again?

I just got a bag of your boxes and I am in the experimental mood. thx

Hey…unless I HAVE MAJOR foam or glass/resin failures…I be using 5200 quick set/Red-X exclusively from now on…the combo it has created …is a new fusion ride…I was doing things today on the Predator/Spitfire that just wasn’t possible to do …before…now…lol…I haven’t felt this stoked on surfing … since I built my first surfy…

…MAN,you guys…LOL…are now…late for the boat…

Are you sure it’s not just this new South swell that’s hitting a bit early? I was getting some pretty mind blowing waves myself this morning.

I guess I’m going to have to hook up with you for a surf and see what you got. I’m only here now because the insurance appraisor needs to inspect and probably total out my Explorer.

Man,it’s been good in certain places…boy am I sore…haven’t surfed this much is a long while…

While the Predator2/Spitfire board design itself offers some unique differences…the major drive in it… is the way the boxes are mounted…like it has a tuned suspension …trippy…

Sorry to here about your Explorer.I HOPE THAT NOTHING SERIOUS has happened to you or your family//////////////

I knew that with patience and R&D I would find my zone with Red-X fin systems…I’ve surpassed that beyond my wildest dreams…

…I can’t thank you enough Tom.
