That board looks great! Can you let us in on the color/glassing schedule details? Thanks, Eric J
i can try but im not sure what you mean. first it was glassed like a resin tint with a light green. then we had a bunch of different colors in little buckets kicked off really fast. i think the colors were black red and yellow maybe green aswell. immediately after finishing the lam kicked off the smaller buckets and starting throwing resin around. afterwards just hotcoated then sanded the bejesus out of it then hotcoated again to get it nice and smooth. after that just sink plugs and gloss like normal. hope that answered your question.
oh yea and with all this extra weight the board still only weighs 6 lbs
Thanks Austin. That covers it. I’ve heard of people putting on the splashes and swirls on the fabric first, then flooding the lam with a tinted resin, but I wouldn’t think you’d get the results you did with that order of things. What you did made all the splashes look crisp. Nice job. If that’s for a client I bet they are happy with it… Best, Eric J
Very cool! I like the cleaner, sharper lines you got by doing it that way. Nice shape too.
Nice job Austin. You can do some amazing stuff with resin colors.I am going to make some lamp shades using that technique. Also looking in to “stained glass” type panels layed out on a flat glass mold.Laugh now. R.B.
