Great pub is just a 100m away…across a little wooden bridge, James Squires Amber and Golden ales on tap. Brilliantly hued parakeets running kamikaze missions right by your nose.
I recognise that beach only too well. If you look closely you may see the Chipster crouching down for some micro tube shots, maybe a bit late in the morning. I was on the river at this time and after the passing of a large boat there were seriously bigger and more shapely waves coming off Chifley Point. I may just take the Munoz down with me next time.
Rottnest island and the shelf system which it is part of blocks a lot of the swell to this area. It gets good over winter when there is more west in the swell and they are bigger.
I live and work a few hundred metres away and manage to get out a few times a week most of the year so there are worse places in the world to call home.
yep , south places got the cyclone swell , THIS time !
But , this time last year , on my mate Karl's birthday , WE got it . I got footage and photos of a REALLY fun EARLY morning [you are quite correct ross ...dave took these photos WAAAY too late ...ha !] "chip's pic[k]s" , indeed !
The water clarity and colour here makes it worth getting out there [thank goodness people here are lazy and sleep in all the time ...I LIKE my local empty !!] . As you can see , by clicking on my "signature" / link below this ...
cheers ! ['sleep in people , there ain't NOTHING here to surf !" hahahahahaaaa]
Nearby lake entrance. Taking the kids for a morning "scoot" haha. Can't see the youngest coz she walks very slowly. Ended up carrying her, 2 scooters and a bike around to the park!
Same place. You can feed the possums if you're game. I wouldn't feed the kangaroo's, they're a little wild. I definately wouldn't go near the goanna's either haha.
Around that rocky outcrop way down near the next headland is a fun spot. One of many down there. Thats all im saying!
Ah. I’m sorry Beerfan. They’re still in their prime a few more years… A frisbee can take a bit of the edge off them I’m sure you know. Used to take mine and let her cut loose at the beach. Fastest dog on the beach unless the whippits were about. Ours would help me get the goats back in the pen and the chickens and ducks in the coop. No more goats. Her job is to walk down and feed the chickens in the morning before I go to work and to lay around and sleep.Mike
They love the beach, but when the eldest sees a bird, she's gone hahah. Might've come out wrong, i would get one again, they're excellent dogs, i just think it would be cool for them to have a few acres to go nuts like they want/need to. Made me look good when we took them to obedience training, just too smart. The one pictured used to bring our cat inside. One day we just started saying "find corky!" to him, and after a bit, he clicked and rounded her up and brought her inside. Was funny, but then he kept doing it over and over hahah.
This is the other one. She's got some kind of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Barks at birds, trains, helicopters, whipper snippers. mowers, thunder. Fucking smart dog, but very frustrating. Some people i know would shoot her, but we love her, even though she drives us nuts. Bloody roxy!. This was probably taken because even though it was pissing down rain, she still found something to bark at. Bark busters give a lifetime guarantee. Poor guy cringed when we rang him im sure. Since we moved she's much better. Classic character, full on hypo, never stops moving, always chasing something. A 5km walk and she doesnt miss a beat, comes home, and keeps running around.
We have one of the hairy kids as well, but ours is 1/4 dingo thanks to an errant grandmother. Far too clever for his own good, but so good with our children. He hasn’t even eaten one of them yet…
