With all due respect to Huck’s work, this is what I would want to see on a Sways shirt- enigmatic, funny and handmade. Nice!
Could be a cowboy hat or a saucer at a quick glance LOL!
Just RG grass roots is enough for this crazy guy
I like it…
Haha - looks like a typical “design by committee”
actually a pretty creative way to illustrate the classic swaylocks multi-post feedback syndrome, lol, and well executed at that, kudos to the artist!
i agree this would make a great t shirt design. But could you just make the name stand out a little clearer and move the bonzer runners up a little and add a swallowtail and…
Quite brilliant in that only people like us would know what it is, and its a reference to the basic design process where pencil meets paper and it’s all possible from then on.
Also shows how we all meet and focus together with different ideas. But don’t necessarily progress.
Even the sneaky D-fin with halo hidden underneath on the right.
And the subtle logo is as logos should be when design is everything.
I don’t think it needs the copy underneath, either you get it or you don’t…
Id buy a t-shirt with that on it. When are they available ? Who’s the artist ?
Ummm, I did it. Thanks for the nice words. The original has fins on the underside but a pshp’d them out except for the sneaky d-fin. No tunnel fin among the erased. This drawing bubbled out of me about a year after Swaylocks had that laminate contest a long while back. After putting this up today I went looking for my three submissions, but only one came up. Not the one I wanted though. Maybe there could be a new round of group submissions.
Very witty - hope we see more of your work here - and post up your other two submissions if you ever find them!
Eleven months ago I posted the old drawing at the top of the page. I referred to the laminate design contest from years ago. Today I was exploring my really old computer and found lots of old swaylocks related stuff. If this upload goes well, I’ll post a few more.
laminate design contest again…
…shirt design
Believe it or not, Mike Doyle made a board that did exactly that. Mid/late 1960’s.
Good stuff! This one’s my favorite so far…
