balsa build

I just scored a stack of 4"x4"x10' and 4"x6"x10' balsa bought from Grubby in 1980 .Not sure what to build either quad fish or an egg (not a hull) , ideas ???

riomar might start longboarding when he grows up, but he's just a little over 55 now and still thinks he's a kid.

But I can't see cutting 3' of those timbers either. My vote would be to send 'em to Jim Phillips and have investment-grade wallhanger guns shaped. I know riomar wants to glass them himself, he needs the experience. He's only done about 100,000 :)

 

I was thinking of a Mike Daniel 8' egg.But I am going out to O-side at the end of March.SD is full of good wood guys(linden)?????

I was afraid you were going to say that. If I was going to tackle it, I'd probably want to go all the way back and do it like the guy that taught the guy that taught my sensei. Just do a Simmons.

If I was retired I'd jump at it. Rather than invest in all the wood tools I'd want, it would be cheaper for me to just fly to California and invade Jim's shop. That would be fun.

I was hoping Jim would jump in on this .Nolte will help on the initial glue up
