Anybody out there have a good supplier of balsa veneer in Britain. Have tried the people I use for structural mahogany veneer and they cannot help. It is time to do a wooden board, I feel the urge!!
I’m Pretty sure that either seabase or homeblown actually have a balsa blank. dont know if that takes the fun out of it for you but certainly an option.
Homeblown definitely have balsa blanks in stock, as I saw them there just the other day. Details on their website.
Home blown has a good supply of balsa blanks - I made a 50’s style D fin 10 ft longboard last year glassed with volan cloth…it’s smooth, fast, dreamlike and heavy…love it!
Theyve just put me together a 6’6" balnk with triple stringer for a balsa twin keel fish. They are the boys for all your blank needs - doing some ace eco foam as well.
Cheers
