Balsa Supplier in NYC / NJ?

Hey.

Anyone know of a good supplier of balsa wood to make blanks around NYC area?

I’m having a tough time finding someone who has 6’ 4"x4"s.

I don’t remember the name of the lumber yard but there is a lumber yard in white plains that sells balsa. They charged me $3/board foot. they only had 3’ lengths. I hope that helps.

I’ve found alot of places that sell 3’. But I need 6’ length.

4"x4"x6’ min.

All the suggested places don’t carry anything that large.

Has anyone build blanks on the east coast?

well at this place you’ll still have to have it shipped but the site looks good, 96" long blocks and they have a picture of an all-balsa board they supplied lumber for. let us know if they’re any good:
